Meet in the pavilion at Helen C. Fenske Visitor, 32 Pleasant Plains Road, Harding Townships, NJ. Learn about woodcock, why Great Swamp NWR is ideal habitat for these special birds and to see Pete Axelrod's famous demonstration of the male woodcock's mating dance. Then join a short walk along Pleasant Plains Road to catch a glimpse of the courting display of woodcock. Dress appropriately, including reflective clothing, and bring a flashlight.
